  • Current use of Immuno-Oncology and Immuno-Oncology combinations (Empliciti, Opdivo, Yervoy) from pharmacy and pharmacy staff.
  • Challenges to dosing and administration of Immuno-Oncology agents and how pharmacists are currently utilizing various educational tools.
  • Management of adverse reactions associated with Immuno-Oncology agents and how pharmacists use related educational resources.
Disease specific criteria: Clinical experience/expertise with Immuno-Oncology agents across solid and/or hematological malignancies.

Purpose: Celgene is seeking between 10-15 participants to discuss the following topics:

  • Understand current pharmacist role in management of lower risk MDS and transfusion dependent ß-thalassemia (ESAs, iron chelation therapy, etc.)
  • Understand pharmacist role in navigating product access and reimbursement
  • Gain reactions from pharmacists around reconstitution, dosing, and titration for luspatercept in MDS/ß-thalassemia

Qualifications:

  • HOPA Membership
  • Experience dispensing/managing agents for patients with lower risk MDS and transfusion dependent ß-thalassemia
  • Active management of at least 10 lower risk MDS/ß-thalassemia patients annually

Purpose: Incyte is seeking 12 participants to gain insight and feedback from the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) attendees to inform and determine ways to communicate the value proposition of Jakafi® (ruxolitinib), assess myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) quality initiatives, tools and resources for Pharmacists. Disease specific criteria: The focus will be on MyeloProliferative Neoplasms (MPNs) including Polycythemia Vera (PV) and Myelofibrosis (MF).

Purpose: Sandoz is seeking between 8-10 participants to discuss dissemination of HEOR/RWE data around Zarxio and Ziextenzo from a US perspective and gather insights and feedback on further differentiation strategies through robust data generation to enhance education and increased adoption to these two products for patients with non-myeloid cancers treated on chemotherapy. Disease specific criteria: Gather insights on the management of febrile neutropenia, issues and challenges associated with appropriate utilization of GCSFs for prophylaxis and treatment of FN, and potential ways to provide data to alter treatment guidelines especially among intermediate risk patients.

Purpose: Seattle Genetics is seeking 10 participants to explore and discuss the area of new Front line Indication in PTCL as well as preparation for a new oral drug in the area of metastatic breast cancer. Disease specific criteria: Regarding our new indication in PTCL. This is often a difficult disease to properly diagnose, Seattle Genetics is interested in wanting to know a little bit more about pathology testing protocols (specifically CD 30 testing) and standards used where the attendees practice.

    • Metastatic breast and solid tumor
    • Perspectives from the advisors regarding distribution, access, contracting and pricing as well as patient access challenges with oral oncology drugs

HOPA is looking for well-qualified individuals with expertise in biosimilar drugs. The intent of this call for volunteers is to create a list of individuals with expertise in this area. As items related to this topic are brought up, HOPA expects to be able to quickly identify individuals able to formulate a response or path forward. Some of these items may be regulatory and legislative in nature while others may be scientific and practice related.

Qualifications:

  • HOPA member in good standing
  • 5+ years of expertise and knowledge related to biosimilars
  • General knowledge about HOPA’s strategic plan and priorities
  • Ability to attend calls and meetings
  • Ability to meet deadlines

The HOPA Research Grant Reviewers Committee is seeking volunteer grant reviewers to assist with reviewing full grant proposals for this year's HOPA Research Grant. If selected you will be asked to review at least one grant in a topic area of your expertise.

Eligibility to serve: HOPA members with experience in peer reviewing grants.

Brief project background: USP has released a proposed rule for General Chapter <797> Pharmaceutical Compounding - Sterile Preparations. HOPA is looking for up to 5 members with safe handling and clean room management experience or responsibility to advise HOPA on the impact of these changes.

Member Experience/Background Needed: Extensive experience (10-20 years) with Safe Handling and clean room management or responsibility

Timeframe of Project: Must review proposed changes, participate in several conference calls and help to write comments, project ends at the end of November

Output/Work Product Expectations: Review USP <797> proposed rule and advise HOPA of impact to pharmacists (and ultimately patients), write comments on the proposed rules to be submitted to USP
